Psalm 95

Come, let us sing for joy to the LORD; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song. For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the LORD our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

Today, if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts as you did at Meribah, as you did that day at Massah in the desert, where your fathers tested and tried me, though they had seen what I did. For forty years I was angry with that generation; I said, "They are a people whose hearts go astray, and they have not known my ways." So I declared on oath in my anger, "They shall never enter my rest."

Indeed God is worthy to be worshipped for He is the great God who created the heavens & the earth, the Maker of everything. God is the sovereign God who is in control and He knows what is best for His people. The Lord place shepherds over the people of His pasture so that He can care for the whole flock that is under His care… The shepherds who have been placed in charge of their flock will be empowered by the Lord to care for their respective flock…

In today’s Psalm, the Psalmist reminded us not to harden our hearts if we hear His voice… The question that I struggle within my own heart is “O Lord, what are You saying to me today? I thought I heard Your voice, but what are You saying?” This is what I heard from the Lord, “we need to remember of what happened at Meribah, where God’s people tested & tried God until the Lord was so angry of His people that He declared that His people will not enter His rest.”

How did God’s people tested & tried God? What did they do that God wants to warn us from doing what they did? This is what happened at Meribah as recorded in Exodus 17…
( Exodus 17:1,2 The whole Israelite community set out from the Desert of Sin, traveling from place to place as the LORD commanded. They camped at Rephidim, but there was no water for the people to drink. 2 So they quarreled with Moses and said, "Give us water to drink." Moses replied, "Why do you quarrel with me? Why do you put the LORD to the test?"
Exodus 17:7 And he called the place Massah and Meribah because the Israelites quarreled and because they tested the LORD saying, "Is the LORD among us or not?")

Hebrews 13:17 says “Obey your leaders and submit to their authority. They keep watch over you as men who must give an account. Obey them so that their work will be a joy, not a burden, for that would be of no advantage to you.”

Today, I am reminded by the Lord not to quarrel with my spiritual leader.
I want to please God and not make Him angry of me… that I may end up unable to enter His Rest!!! O Lord, I prayed that You would lead me to enter Your Rest… May I always please You and not grief Your Holy Spirit…

O Lord, I love You. Yes Lord Jesus, I love You… I will always love You…
