QT on 25th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 10:12-20 (NIV)

[12] And the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand over Egypt so that locusts will swarm over the land and devour everything growing in the fields, everything left by the hail." [13] So Moses stretched out his staff over Egypt, and the Lord made an east wind blow across the land all that day and all that night. By morning the wind had brought the locusts; [14] they invaded all Egypt and settled down in every area of the country in great numbers. Never before had there been such a plague of locusts, nor will there ever be again. [15] They covered all the ground until it was black. They devoured all that was left after the hail---everything growing in the fields and the fruit on the trees. Nothing green remained on tree or plant in all the land of Egypt. [16] Pharaoh quickly summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "I have sinned against the Lord your God and against you. [17] Now forgive my sin once more and pray to the Lord your God to take this deadly plague away from me." [18] Moses then left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord. [19] And the Lord changed the wind to a very strong west wind, which caught up the locusts and carried them into the Red Sea. Not a locust was left anywhere in Egypt. [20] But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, and he would not let the Israelites go.

1. Let us consider the judgement of God and take time to repent of unconfessed sins in our lives. Seek and pray for God's blessings, and take time to be reminded of His provision and goodness. May we be always found in God's favour as we at all times put God first in our hearts!

2. Let us spend time worshipping the Lord every day withholding nothing from the King of Love. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal hidden sins, pride, and stubbornness in our hearts and pray that the Lord would always soften our hearts to His love. Let us learn to love one another as ourselves because we know that would please the Lord.

Closing Prayer:
Holy Spirit, reveal to me my own pride and stubbornness that lies within my heart. Soften my heart, and fill it with many reminders of Your grace & mercy. May I learn to truly count my blessings instead of complain. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 24th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 10:1-11 (NIV)

[1] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh, for I have hardened his heart and the hearts of his officials so that I may perform these miraculous signs of mine among them [2] that you may tell your children and grandchildren how I dealt harshly with the Egyptians and how I performed my signs among them, and that you may know that I am the Lord." [3] So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: `How long will you refuse to humble yourself before me? Let my people go, so that they may worship me. [4] If you refuse to let them go, I will bring locusts into your country tomorrow. [5] They will cover the face of the ground so that it cannot be seen. They will devour what little you have left after the hail, including every tree that is growing in your fields. [6] They will fill your houses and those of all your officials and all the Egyptians---something neither your fathers nor your forefathers have ever seen from the day they settled in this land till now.' " Then Moses turned and left Pharaoh. [7] Pharaoh's officials said to him, "How long will this man be a snare to us? Let the people go, so that they may worship the Lord their God. Do you not yet realize that Egypt is ruined?" [8] Then Moses and Aaron were brought back to Pharaoh. "Go, worship the Lord your God," he said. "But just who will be going?" [9] Moses answered, "We will go with our young and old, with our sons and daughters, and with our flocks and herds, because we are to celebrate a festival to the Lord." [10] Pharaoh said, "The Lord be with you---if I let you go, along with your women and children! Clearly you are bent on evil. [11] No! Have only the men go; and worship the Lord, since that's what you have been asking for." Then Moses and Aaron were driven out of Pharaoh's presence.

1. Today's QT ecourages us to check our hearts, examine ourselves and evaluate our attitudes. I thank God for keeping my heart right with Him... May my heart be always soft and be open to the Holy Spirit. The Lord is so good to me  :-)

2. Family ministry will be the most important in my church, for I will strive to pass down our faith in God to the younger generation. I shall continue to serve and invest my life into the lives of little ones. Thank God for renewing my calling in Him :-)

Closing Prayer:
Dear Jesus, I praise You for the grace You have given me. Please do not harden my heart. Instead, always soften it more to Your Holy Spirit. Bless me and use me to love others and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 23rd March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 9:27-35 (NIV)

[27] Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron. "This time I have sinned," he said to them. "The Lord is in the right, and I and my people are in the wrong. [28] Pray to the Lord, for we have had enough thunder and hail. I will let you go; you don't have to stay any longer." [29] Moses replied, "When I have gone out of the city, I will spread out my hands in prayer to the Lord. The thunder will stop and there will be no more hail, so you may know that the earth is the Lord's. [30] But I know that you and your officials still do not fear the Lord God." [31] (The flax and barley were destroyed, since the barley had headed and the flax was in bloom. [32] The wheat and spelt, however, were not destroyed, because they ripen later.) [33] Then Moses left Pharaoh and went out of the city. He spread out his hands toward the Lord; the thunder and hail stopped, and the rain no longer poured down on the land. [34] When Pharaoh saw that the rain and hail and thunder had stopped, he sinned again: He and his officials hardened their hearts. [35] So Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not let the Israelites go, just as the Lord had said through Moses.

1. In today's QT, I  learnt that we must always keep our hearts soft towards God & towards one another. All the plagues of our lives is not harden the heart of our old sinful nature "represented by the Pharoh of Egypt" but to reveal how deceitful & hardened are the hearts of our old self. We need to constantly seek God to renew our hearts and gives unto us a new heart, a heart of flesh & not stone, a heart that will after God's own heart. Lord, please let me NEVER have a heart of stone...

2. Dear Lord, may I NOT be blind to the sins in my own life, may You cleanse me and prompt my heart towards true repentance. May You grant me strength to be faithful and keep my promises to You. May there be no deceit found in me or on my lips so that Your presence be with me and so that I can draw near to You all the time  :-)

Closing Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You that in You no lie or deceit can dwell. I pray thatYou would mold me more & more into Your Son's image, and that I would live a life of truth & holiness. Would You continue to save me from my sinful nature. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 22nd March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 9:13-26 (NIV)

[13] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, `This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me, [14] or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth. [15] For by now I could have stretched out my hand and struck you and your people with a plague that would have wiped you off the earth. [16] But I have raised you up for this very purpose, that I might show you my power and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth. [17] You still set yourself against my people and will not let them go. [18] Therefore, at this time tomorrow I will send the worst hailstorm that has ever fallen on Egypt, from the day it was founded till now. [19] Give an order now to bring your livestock and everything you have in the field to a place of shelter, because the hail will fall on every man and animal that has not been brought in and is still out in the field, and they will die.' " [20] Those officials of Pharaoh who feared the word of the Lord hurried to bring their slaves and their livestock inside. [21] But those who ignored the word of the Lord left their slaves and livestock in the field. [22] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Stretch out your hand toward the sky so that hail will fall all over Egypt---on men and animals and on everything growing in the fields of Egypt." [23] When Moses stretched out his staff toward the sky, the Lord sent thunder and hail, and lightning flashed down to the ground. So the Lord rained hail on the land of Egypt; [24] hail fell and lightning flashed back and forth. It was the worst storm in all the land of Egypt since it had become a nation. [25] Throughout Egypt hail struck everything in the fields---both men and animals; it beat down everything growing in the fields and stripped every tree. [26] The only place it did not hail was the land of Goshen, where the Israelites were.

1. We must remember that everything we do is for God's glory. At work, school, home, and in our communities, our calling is to know Christ and make Him known.

2. Sometimes the Lord allows storms in our lives is so that we can be set free from "the pharoh of Egypt" (the sins & bondages of our old sinful nature). And those storms (which could be the worst storms ever happened in our lives) could be part of the plans / purpose of God so that our Lord God Almighty can show us His Power and so that the Lord's name might be proclaimed in all the earth.

Closing Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, I confess that often times I failed to have a balanced view of who You are. You are above our comprehension, yet You kindly make Yourself known to humanity. Please come and meet me in a more intimate way. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 21st March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 9:1-12 (NIV)

[1] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, `This is what the Lord, the God of the Hebrews, says: "Let my people go, so that they may worship me." [2] If you refuse to let them go and continue to hold them back, [3] the hand of the Lord will bring a terrible plague on your livestock in the field---on your horses and donkeys and camels and on your cattle and sheep and goats. [4] But the Lord will make a distinction between the livestock of Israel and that of Egypt, so that no animal belonging to the Israelites will die.' " [5] The Lord set a time and said, "Tomorrow the Lord will do this in the land." [6] And the next day the Lord did it: All the livestock of the Egyptians died, but not one animal belonging to the Israelites died. [7] Pharaoh sent men to investigate and found that not even one of the animals of the Israelites had died. Yet his heart was unyielding and he would not let the people go. [8] Then the Lord said to Moses and Aaron, "Take handfuls of soot from a furnace and have Moses toss it into the air in the presence of Pharaoh. [9] It will become fine dust over the whole land of Egypt, and festering boils will break out on men and animals throughout the land." [10] So they took soot from a furnace and stood before Pharaoh. Moses tossed it into the air, and festering boils broke out on men and animals. [11] The magicians could not stand before Moses because of the boils that were on them and on all the Egyptians. [12] But the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said to Moses.

1. As I read the Word for my QT today, I felt the Lord is saying to me NOT to depend on the livestock, like how the Egyptians in that time did with their livestocks... We should NOT to put our security on wealth, security & food. When such security in our lives are being threatened, we will NOT be affected easily if our trust in God is that He will provide.

2. The furnance that Moses took the handfuls of shoot from to toss it into the air in front of Pharoh represents the "oppression" that the Israelites went through as slaves trying to produce bricks for the Egyptians. Our God is the God of Justice. Look around the world and see all the injustices that grieves God's heart. Our intimacy with the Lord should compel us to go, move, reach out, give more, serve & love.

Closing Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please help me to see beyond my immediate circumstances and fix my eyes on You who are everlasting. May I become more like Jesus who fought for justice, and loved relentlessly. May I be Your ambassador of freedom, justice, peace, and love. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 20th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 8:25-32 (NIV)

[25] Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Go, sacrifice to your God here in the land." [26] But Moses said, "That would not be right. The sacrifices we offer the Lord our God would be detestable to the Egyptians. And if we offer sacrifices that are detestable in their eyes, will they not stone us? [27] We must take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, as he commands us." [28] Pharaoh said, "I will let you go to offer sacrifices to the Lord your God in the desert, but you must not go very far. Now pray for me." [29] Moses answered, "As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the Lord, and tomorrow the flies will leave Pharaoh and his officials and his people. Only be sure that Pharaoh does not act deceitfully again by not letting the people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord." [30] Then Moses left Pharaoh and prayed to the Lord, [31] and the Lord did what Moses asked: The flies left Pharaoh and his officials and his people; not a fly remained. [32] But this time also Pharaoh hardened his heart and would not let the people go.

1. People cannot know the true motives of our hearts. We lie, we stretch the truth, our hearts change, & circumstances differ. But God knows our hearts, and in His eyes, that is what matters. Let our hearts be pure.

We need to seek the Approval of God & NOT the applause of men. One of the ways to keep our hearts pure is to consistently seek to glorify God in everything that we do... and to do ONLY what God call us to do... We need to truly seek to serve others in ALL that we do, seek to expand God's Kingdom & NOT our "little empire", seek to put God first in our lives!

2. Do you know God? As He provides for us daily, as His majesty is written in nature, & as His heart breaks for the suffering in the world, are you really understanding God?

God's ways are much higher than ours. When God moves, we can only humbly bow and submit to every step that God is leading us.In moments when we do NOT fully understand, we need to TRUST, we need to be OBEDIENT, we need to MOVE in FAITH according to the voice of the HOLY SPIRIT!

Closing Prayer:
Gracious God, we want to be in Your presence daily. We confess that there are too many things which vie for our attention & our hearts, & often, they win out. We pray that You will make Yourself known to Your people and to this world. In Your name. Amen.

QT on 19th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 8:16-24 (NIV)

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, `Stretch out your staff and strike the dust of the ground,' and throughout the land of Egypt the dust will become gnats." [17] They did this, and when Aaron stretched out his hand with the staff and struck the dust of the ground, gnats came upon men and animals. All the dust throughout the land of Egypt became gnats. [18] But when the magicians tried to produce gnats by their secret arts, they could not. And the gnats were on men and animals. [19] The magicians said to Pharaoh, "This is the finger of God." But Pharaoh's heart was hard and he would not listen, just as the Lord had said. [20] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Get up early in the morning and confront Pharaoh as he goes to the water and say to him, `This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. [21] If you do not let my people go, I will send swarms of flies on you and your officials, on your people and into your houses. The houses of the Egyptians will be full of flies, and even the ground where they are. [22] " `But on that day I will deal differently with the land of Goshen, where my people live; no swarms of flies will be there, so that you will know that I, the Lord, am in this land. [23] I will make a distinction between my people and your people. This miraculous sign will occur tomorrow.' " [24] And the Lord did this. Dense swarms of flies poured into Pharaoh's palace and into the houses of his officials, and throughout Egypt the land was ruined by the flies.

1. When God confronts us of our sins, there is no way to outrun or outwit. The fastest way to end a confrontation with God is to submit. You will find that He is a gracious Master & a loving Father.

2. Be comforted & encouraged. Nothing escapes God's eyes. Those who consistently oppose Him and bring suffering to others will one day answer to His judgement. You are His child. He is your God.

Closing Prayer:
Dear God, this world cries out for Your Justice. Help me be strong in the face of opposition & persecution. I pray for my brothers & sisters around the world who literally have to face daily suffering. I pray for those who are broken-hearted & downtrodders. Come, Lord Jesus! Amen.

QT on 18th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 8:1-15 (NIV)
Then the Lord said to Moses, "Go to Pharaoh and say to him, `This is what the Lord says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me. [2] If you refuse to let them go, I will plague your whole country with frogs. [3] The Nile will teem with frogs. They will come up into your palace and your bedroom and onto your bed, into the houses of your officials and on your people, and into your ovens and kneading troughs. [4] The frogs will go up on you and your people and all your officials.' " [5] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, `Stretch out your hand with your staff over the streams and canals and ponds, and make frogs come up on the land of Egypt.' " [6] So Aaron stretched out his hand over the waters of Egypt, and the frogs came up and covered the land. [7] But the magicians did the same things by their secret arts; they also made frogs come up on the land of Egypt. [8] Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord." [9] Moses said to Pharaoh, "I leave to you the honor of setting the time for me to pray for you and your officials and your people that you and your houses may be rid of the frogs, except for those that remain in the Nile." [10] "Tomorrow," Pharaoh said. Moses replied, "It will be as you say, so that you may know there is no one like the Lord our God. [11] The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials and your people; they will remain only in the Nile." [12] After Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh, Moses cried out to the Lord about the frogs he had brought on Pharaoh. [13] And the Lord did what Moses asked. The frogs died in the houses, in the courtyards and in the fields. [14] They were piled into heaps, and the land reeked of them. [15] But when Pharaoh saw that there was relief, he hardened his heart and would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said.

1. In today's QT, we learnt about the Lord sending a plague with frogs coming up into the palace, bedroom, onto the bed, into the houses, and into your ovens and kneading troughs... with the frogs going up on the people and all the officials. I find it amazing that the frogs can drive the Pharoh to actually summon Moses and Aaron and said, "Pray to the Lord to take the frogs away from me and my people, and I will let your people go to offer sacrifices to the Lord."

As I seek the Lord, I know it may sound wierd, but I pray for the Lord to flood my life with frogs too to get rid of all kinds of insects flying around me... Let the frogs be everywhere and bring inconvenience to me, so that I would not enter into such a comfortable state that I forgotten that I am called by God with a Mission (the Great Commission). May my ears be filled with the croaking of the frogs all day long so that I can hear the cry of the lost crying out to God for help...

2. The "Pharoh of Egypt" is one who does not honor his words... Hence, it is important for us to be alert and not be decieved by the evil one. There will be many times that the devil will attempt to make deals with us causing us to lose our guard and NOT realised that the devil will not let us go easily. Make NO Compromise when it comes to the areas of sins & temptations. Do NOT STOP praying for our friends whom we are reaching out to. Whenever there are little successes, press on in prayer for them even more. Do NOT lose our guard & live a life of convenience! Instead, live a Life of Committment and be ALERT at all times!

Closing Prayer:
Dear God, help me be honest. I confess that I say all sorts of things. Let me be wise with my words, considering the impact they may have on other people. Help me honor the promises I have made with You so that Your name might not be shamed. In His name. Amen.

QT on 17th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 7:14-25 (NIV)

Then the Lord said to Moses, "Pharaoh's heart is unyielding; he refuses to let the people go. [15] Go to Pharaoh in the morning as he goes out to the water. Wait on the bank of the Nile to meet him, and take in your hand the staff that was changed into a snake. [16] Then say to him, `The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has sent me to say to you: Let my people go, so that they may worship me in the desert. But until now you have not listened. [17] This is what the Lord says: By this you will know that I am the Lord: With the staff that is in my hand I will strike the water of the Nile, and it will be changed into blood. [18] The fish in the Nile will die, and the river will stink; the Egyptians will not be able to drink its water.' " [19] The Lord said to Moses, "Tell Aaron, `Take your staff and stretch out your hand over the waters of Egypt---over the streams and canals, over the ponds and all the reservoirs'---and they will turn to blood. Blood will be everywhere in Egypt, even in the wooden buckets and stone jars." [20] Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord had commanded. He raised his staff in the presence of Pharaoh and his officials and struck the water of the Nile, and all the water was changed into blood. [21] The fish in the Nile died, and the river smelled so bad that the Egyptians could not drink its water. Blood was everywhere in Egypt. [22] But the Egyptian magicians did the same things by their secret arts, and Pharaoh's heart became hard; he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the Lord had said. [23] Instead, he turned and went into his palace, and did not take even this to heart. [24] And all the Egyptians dug along the Nile to get drinking water , because they could not drink the water of the river. [25] Seven days passed after the Lord struck the Nile.

1. In order for us to be set free from the bondage of sin & be set free from slavery of the rat race of this world, we need to ask Jesus to cover the source of our Wealth with the Blood of the Lamb. We need to recognize that our dependance MUST be on God and NOT on the "Nile" like how the Egyptian depended on the Nile for their living and prosperity. To me, the 1st plague of turning the river water into blood is to challenge our dependance on those things that we thought they will bring us prosperity... It could be our grades, our jobs, our bank account, etc...

2. The devil will never let go of those whom he thinks he has control over their lives. It is very important that we persevere in praying for our friends that we want to reach out to for this coming Good Friday Event. Only by the blood of the Lamb, can our friends be set free. Pray for God to challenge our source of dependance so that we will acknowledge that Jesus Christ is our ONLY Source of Dependance.

CLosing Prayer:
Almighty God, there is simply none like You. Open my eyes to Your works in my life. Let me not be ignorant of Your revelations and Your presence. Teach me to be humble, and move me to obey. In His holy name. Amen.

QT on 16th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 7:1-13 (NIV)

Then the Lord said to Moses, "See, I have made you like God to Pharaoh, and your brother Aaron will be your prophet. [2] You are to say everything I command you, and your brother Aaron is to tell Pharaoh to let the Israelites go out of his country. [3] But I will harden Pharaoh's heart, and though I multiply my miraculous signs and wonders in Egypt, [4] he will not listen to you. Then I will lay my hand on Egypt and with mighty acts of judgment I will bring out my divisions, my people the Israelites. [5] And the Egyptians will know that I am the Lord when I stretch out my hand against Egypt and bring the Israelites out of it." [6] Moses and Aaron did just as the Lord commanded them. [7] Moses was eighty years old and Aaron eighty-three when they spoke to Pharaoh. [8] The Lord said to Moses and Aaron, [9] "When Pharaoh says to you, `Perform a miracle, ' then say to Aaron, `Take your staff and throw it down before Pharaoh,' and it will become a snake." [10] So Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and did just as the Lord commanded. Aaron threw his staff down in front of Pharaoh and his officials, and it became a snake. [11] Pharaoh then summoned wise men and sorcerers, and the Egyptian magicians also did the same things by their secret arts: [12] Each one threw down his staff and it became a snake. But Aaron's staff swallowed up their staffs. [13] Yet Pharaoh's heart became hard and he would not listen to them, just as the Lord had said.

1. Have you every knowingly sinned and persisted in that sin? Did you notice that your hearts gets used to that sin and you become hard hearted to it? Let's be humble and quick to repent when it comes to sin.

2. As Moses was to Pharoh, so are we to the world. We are Christ's ambassadors, and the power of the living and resurrected Christ goes with us as surely He does. Let's be unafraid and bold.

Closing prayer:
Dear God, use me as Your servant. Send me wherever You want, and be with me as I go. Help me be humble as I live a repentant life. Give me strength to be bold in proclaiming who You are. In His matchless name. Amen.

QT on 15th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 6:14-30 (NIV)

These were the heads of their families : The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These were the clans of Reuben. [15] The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon. [16] These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years. [17] The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei. [18] The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years. [19] The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi according to their records. [20] Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years. [21] The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zicri. [22] The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri. [23] Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. [24] The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans. [25] Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan. [26] It was this same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, "Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions." [27] They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron. [28] Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, [29] he said to him, "I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you." [30] But Moses said to the Lord, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?"

1. Ephesians 1:4-5 says that God chose us and predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ. In today's QT, I felt the Lord assurance that He has chosen us to be His children to deliver the people out of Egypt, out of slavery, out of bondage that they are facing in the world, out of bondage to sin, out of slavery to addictions, out of the rat race of the world system so that ALL might experience the Abundant Life that our Lord Jesus promised us. The genealogy that we need is to know that we are truly following our Lord Jesus and accepted Him as our Lord & Saviour. All Christians who are true disciples of Jesus MUST be willing to answer the call to "Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions." and "Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt" to let the children of God go so that they can worship our God! As Good Friday approaches, ALL of us must be focus to bring our friends to our Good Friday Events so that those who are "predestined to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ" can be set free from their bondages, ot of slavery, out of Egypt.

2. Today, again I read that: Moses was saying to the Lord, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?" We need to STOP making all kinds of excuses and say words like... "oh, our family members would not enjoy our Good Friday program, should not invite them...", "oh, our friends may reject me even if I ask him/her to come to my TGIF party", "oh, my classmates will laugh at me if I tell him/her about the Good News", etc., etc., etc... Instead, we who have encounter God in our own lives, must be willing to RISE UP and answer to our call, to tell the Pharoh of EGYPT, "LET MY PEOPLE GO!" The people need the Lord... Romans 10:14,15 says this,
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Closing Prayer:
Father God, thank You for my friend Edward who brought me to Church when I was 15 years old so that I can can know Jesus as my Lord & Saviour. I pray that Lord, all these 5 tickets to "The Final Hours" which will be the first experiential mobile drama that I would be attending, will be put to good use. Grant me favour as I invite my friends who have not know you so that they will come to know you this Good Friday Weekend. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 14th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 6:2-13 (NIV)

[2] God also said to Moses, "I am the Lord. [3] I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob as God Almighty, but by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them. [4] I also established my covenant with them to give them the land of Canaan, where they lived as aliens. [5] Moreover, I have heard the groaning of the Israelites, whom the Egyptians are enslaving, and I have remembered my covenant. [6] "Therefore, say to the Israelites: `I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. I will free you from being slaves to them, and I will redeem you with an outstretched arm and with mighty acts of judgment. [7] I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. [8] And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord.' " [9] Moses reported this to the Israelites, but they did not listen to him because of their discouragement and cruel bondage. [10] Then the Lord said to Moses, [11] "Go, tell Pharaoh king of Egypt to let the Israelites go out of his country." [12] But Moses said to the Lord, "If the Israelites will not listen to me, why would Pharaoh listen to me, since I speak with faltering lips ?" [13] Now the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron about the Israelites and Pharaoh king of Egypt, and he commanded them to bring the Israelites out of Egypt.

1. We should never fall into the trap of believing that we initiated our relationship with God or that we initiated our own salvation. God initiates, we respond. Our worship is a loving response to God's gracious acts in our lives.

2. We always have a choice when it comes to responding to God. Either respond reluctantly, hesitantly, and skeptically and wait for God to make us believe the hard way, or believe with child-like faith and recieve His blessings freely.

Today, the Lord spoke these words to me: "I will take you as my own people, and I will be your God. Then you will know that I am the Lord your God, who brought you out from under the yoke of the Egyptians. And I will bring you to the land I swore with uplifted hand to give to Abraham, to Isaac and to Jacob. I will give it to you as a possession. I am the Lord."

Closing Prayer:
Father, I believe that You are the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. You are the same God today as You were when You delivered Israel from Egypt. I worship You because You are infinitely powerful and wise. Teach me to trust You more. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 13th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 5:15 - 6:1 (NIV)
[15] Then the Israelite foremen went and appealed to Pharaoh: "Why have you treated your servants this way? [16] Your servants are given no straw, yet we are told, `Make bricks!' Your servants are being beaten, but the fault is with your own people." [17] Pharaoh said, "Lazy, that's what you are---lazy! That is why you keep saying, `Let us go and sacrifice to the Lord.' [18] Now get to work. You will not be given any straw, yet you must produce your full quota of bricks." [19] The Israelite foremen realized they were in trouble when they were told, "You are not to reduce the number of bricks required of you for each day." [20] When they left Pharaoh, they found Moses and Aaron waiting to meet them, [21] and they said, "May the Lord look upon you and judge you! You have made us a stench to Pharaoh and his officials and have put a sword in their hand to kill us." [22] Moses returned to the Lord and said, "O Lord, why have you brought trouble upon this people? Is this why you sent me? [23] Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble upon this people, and you have not rescued your people at all."
[6:1] Then the Lord said to Moses, "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."

1. To all who have been intimidated by the devil and felt that you are facing all kinds of spiritual attacks from all sides (be it whether it is at our work place, relationships issues, or situations at home), today the Lord wants to tell us: "Now you will see what I will do to Pharaoh: Because of my mighty hand he will let them go; because of my mighty hand he will drive them out of his country."

It is my firm believe that the Lord will deliver all of us from the difficult situations that we are facing. We need to trust in the Lord that He will always provide a way out of the "impossible" situations of our lives...

2. In today's QT, I felt the Lord spoke to me to NEVER, NEVER, NEVER ask such a question, "O Lord, why have you brought trouble upon this people? Is this why you sent me? [23] Ever since I went to Pharaoh to speak in your name, he has brought trouble upon this people, and you have not rescued your people at all."

The devil's scheme is to intimidate me, accuse me of being "lazy", make me feel despair of "how to produce bricks without straws?" I MUST NOT allow the devil or allow the situations around me to doubt my calling, question the reason of why the Lord has sent me? The reminder is to look beyond the situation that I am currently facing and believe that God has grant me the victory, that God will finally deliver ALL His People (from sin, from broken families/relationships, from living a LIFE without JOY!!!)

Closing Prayer:
Father God, we await Your return to earth. Reveal Your glory to all people in such a way that no one can deny who You are. Defend Your servants and deliver Your people from sin and death. I trust in You to make all things right. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 12th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 5:1-14 (NIV)

[1] Afterward Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said, "This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: `Let my people go, so that they may hold a festival to me in the desert.' " [2] Pharaoh said, "Who is the Lord, that I should obey him and let Israel go? I do not know the Lord and I will not let Israel go." [3] Then they said, "The God of the Hebrews has met with us. Now let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God, or he may strike us with plagues or with the sword." [4] But the king of Egypt said, "Moses and Aaron, why are you taking the people away from their labor? Get back to your work!" [5] Then Pharaoh said, "Look, the people of the land are now numerous, and you are stopping them from working." [6] That same day Pharaoh gave this order to the slave drivers and foremen in charge of the people: [7] "You are no longer to supply the people with straw for making bricks; let them go and gather their own straw. [8] But require them to make the same number of bricks as before; don't reduce the quota. They are lazy; that is why they are crying out, `Let us go and sacrifice to our God.' [9] Make the work harder for the men so that they keep working and pay no attention to lies." [10] Then the slave drivers and the foremen went out and said to the people, "This is what Pharaoh says: `I will not give you any more straw. [11] Go and get your own straw wherever you can find it, but your work will not be reduced at all.' " [12] So the people scattered all over Egypt to gather stubble to use for straw. [13] The slave drivers kept pressing them, saying, "Complete the work required of you for each day, just as when you had straw." [14] The Israelite foremen appointed by Pharaoh's slave drivers were beaten and were asked, "Why didn't you meet your quota of bricks yesterday or today, as before?"

1. I am not sure, but I think Moses must have felt disturbed when he tries to help the Israelites and the situation became worse for the Israelites. Many times in life, similar situations happens to us too... But that does not mean we give up doing good to others and we defintely MUST not stop obeying what God called us to do... It is about trusting in God that whatever the devil do to try to harm us, God will turn it around and bring blessings to those who truly love Him...

2. From today's QT, I also recognize that the devil is all the time resisting the work of God and try to cause chaos and make the situation difficult for God's people. We need to recognize that the battle is against the Pharoh of Egypt which represents the devil, the powers & principalities of the air and understand that our battle is not against flesh & blood. Pharoh tries to make things difficult for the Israelite hoping that the people will blame Moses. In the same way, the devil likes to create misunderstandings among God's people and cause them to blame one another... In such situations, we need to trust God and believe in "Moses", believe in one another. We MUST NOT break trust in God's anointed servant & with one another... even when the devil tries to pressure everyone and make the situation tense for all... The best thing for the Israelites to do under such circumstances is to unite and not allow the "pharoh" to intimidate them...

Closing Prayer:
Almighty God, You are the one true God over all creation. There is none like You. I worship You because You are soverign and worthy of the highest praise. Thank You for rescuing me from all false gods and idols. In Jesus' name I pray. Amen.

QT on 11th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 4:24-31 (NIV)

[24] At a lodging place on the way, the Lord met Moses and was about to kill him. [25] But Zipporah took a flint knife, cut off her son's foreskin and touched Moses' feet with it. "Surely you are a bridegroom of blood to me," she said. [26] So the Lord let him alone. (At that time she said "bridegroom of blood," referring to circumcision.) [27] The Lord said to Aaron, "Go into the desert to meet Moses." So he met Moses at the mountain of God and kissed him. [28] Then Moses told Aaron everything the Lord had sent him to say, and also about all the miraculous signs he had commanded him to perform. [29] Moses and Aaron brought together all the elders of the Israelites, [30] and Aaron told them everything the Lord had said to Moses. He also performed the signs before the people, [31] and they believed. And when they heard that the Lord was concerned about them and had seen their misery, they bowed down and worshiped.

- Moses was on the way to Egypt that the Lord wanted to kill Moses... According to Exodus 4:26. God only let Moses go after Moses' wife acted to circumcise her their son immediately.

- In today's QT, I learnt that, as we walk together with the Lord, we need to OBEY God's instructions for us. In Genesis 17:9-14, it was recorded for us that God has already given the Israelites this instruction: "Whether born in your household or bought with your money, they must be circumcised." Sometimes, such instructions can be forgotten over a long period of time... or one can compromise and not follow these instructions after some time...

- If we want to be used by God, if we want to walk in God's Presence, we need to fulfill what God called us to do and not neglect any of His commands. I thought we also need to help our children obey those commands together as a family. We need to ensure our children are circumcised too...

Closing Prayer:
Holy God, You are a covenant-keeping God and One who is and will always be true to Your promises. Help me to honour my promises to You. And as Your promises are fulfilled in my life, let my response be one of humble worship. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 10th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 4:18-23 (NIV)

Then Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Let me go back to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive." Jethro said, "Go, and I wish you well." [19] Now the Lord had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead. " [20] So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand. [21] The Lord said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. [22] Then say to Pharaoh, `This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son, [23] and I told you, "Let my son go, so he may worship me." But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.' "

1. In today's QT, I realised we cannot keep resisting the will of God. I MUST NOT keep praying for God to reveal His will when in reality it is NOT a matter of revelation BUT OBEDIENCE. God may You grant me the strength to obey Your Will.

2. God is mercy, but He is also justice. We often think of God's justice in terms of judging the earth, and we often forget that God will bring justice to those who have brought us pain. God is not just our Defender but also our Avenger as well (Rom 12:19). That is the freedom we have, in crying out to Him at any moment. "Daddy!"

Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, forgive me for calling You "Lord" yet resisting full submission to Your will in my life. Grant me strength to trust Your perfect will for my life and obey Your calling for me. In Your name. Amen.

QT on 9th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 4:10-17 (NIV)

Moses said to the Lord, "O Lord, I have never been eloquent, neither in the past nor since you have spoken to your servant. I am slow of speech and tongue." [11] The Lord said to him, "Who gave man his mouth? Who makes him deaf or mute? Who gives him sight or makes him blind? Is it not I, the Lord? [12] Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say." [13] But Moses said, "O Lord, please send someone else to do it." [14] Then the Lord's anger burned against Moses and he said, "What about your brother, Aaron the Levite? I know he can speak well. He is already on his way to meet you, and his heart will be glad when he sees you. [15] You shall speak to him and put words in his mouth; I will help both of you speak and will teach you what to do. [16] He will speak to the people for you, and it will be as if he were your mouth and as if you were God to him. [17] But take this staff in your hand so you can perform miraculous signs with it."

1. In today's QT, I learnt that we need to ask God for a fear of God built on faith. We need to fear God more than we fear men, or fear our past, fear many things that are intimidating us from obeying what God call us to do... When God calls us into action, He certainly is not afraid of our past. So when God calls, make a decision to obey - make no excuses.

2. Love is Patient, Love is Kind. God was so patient with Moses and so patient with me. I want to exercise patience with others in the same way. I want to love as Jesus loves me...

Closing Prayer:
Almighty God, who is God but You alone? Help me to overcome my fear of men and to fear You only. Let it not be a fear that delilitates but one that is rooted in a profound understanding of Your love and Your greatness. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 8th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 4:1-9 (NIV)

Moses answered, "What if they do not believe me or listen to me and say, `The Lord did not appear to you'?" [2] Then the Lord said to him, "What is that in your hand?" "A staff," he replied. [3] The Lord said, "Throw it on the ground." Moses threw it on the ground and it became a snake, and he ran from it. [4] Then the Lord said to him, "Reach out your hand and take it by the tail." So Moses reached out and took hold of the snake and it turned back into a staff in his hand. [5] "This," said the Lord, "is so that they may believe that the Lord, the God of their fathers---the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob---has appeared to you." [6] Then the Lord said, "Put your hand inside your cloak." So Moses put his hand into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was leprous, like snow. [7] "Now put it back into your cloak," he said. So Moses put his hand back into his cloak, and when he took it out, it was restored, like the rest of his flesh. [8] Then the Lord said, "If they do not believe you or pay attention to the first miraculous sign, they may believe the second. [9] But if they do not believe these two signs or listen to you, take some water from the Nile and pour it on the dry ground. The water you take from the river will become blood on the ground."

1. "Why would anyone believe in what I say? How would people know that it is God who have sent me? Would anyone listen to me?" These are real questions that Moses struggle with when God spoke to him about what God called Moses to do... In the same way, when God called us, do we too struggle with such questions? As I meditate upon the situation that Moses faced, I realised that many times, we cannot help but feel uncertain... wondered if we have heard God correctly... Sometimes, we just have to move in FAITH and believe that God is in control, and He will guide us back into His Plans even when we hear wrongly... It is my belief that when God called us to do something, He will authenticate the works that He has purposed for us.

2. In today's QT, I felt in the same way, the Lord in asking me, "What is that in your hand?" I have in my hand, my Bible, the Living Word of God. The Lord has given me a gift, the ability to preach His Good News and to teach His Word, the skills to disciple His People, the heart to father His children, the love to build God's families, the will to obey His commands and the courage to move in faith... I know God's calling for me, and I shall continue to pursue that calling... It is not whether people will believe in me... It is about what God has called me to do, and what God has told me to speak... I just have to obey...

Closing Prayer:
Soverign God, You are Lord over all things, and You alone know the end from the beginning. Help me to remember my humble beginnings and the depths from which You have saved me, and grant me the discernment to see Your redemptive plan for all of creation. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 7th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 3:15-22 (NIV)

God also said to Moses, "Say to the Israelites, `The Lord, the God of your fathers---the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob---has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation. [16] "Go, assemble the elders of Israel and say to them, `The Lord, the God of your fathers---the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob---appeared to me and said: I have watched over you and have seen what has been done to you in Egypt. [17] And I have promised to bring you up out of your misery in Egypt into the land of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites---a land flowing with milk and honey.' [18] "The elders of Israel will listen to you. Then you and the elders are to go to the king of Egypt and say to him, `The Lord, the God of the Hebrews, has met with us. Let us take a three-day journey into the desert to offer sacrifices to the Lord our God.' [19] But I know that the king of Egypt will not let you go unless a mighty hand compels him. [20] So I will stretch out my hand and strike the Egyptians with all the wonders that I will perform among them. After that, he will let you go. [21] "And I will make the Egyptians favorably disposed toward this people, so that when you leave you will not go empty-handed. [22] Every woman is to ask her neighbor and any woman living in her house for articles of silver and gold and for clothing, which you will put on your sons and daughters. And so you will plunder the Egyptians."

1. Our God is an EVER-CONSISTENT God who is never-changing. He is the same yesterday, today and forever... and we can rely completely on the NAME of the Lord! "`The Lord, the God of your fathers---the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob---has sent me to you.' This is my name forever, the name by which I am to be remembered from generation to generation." It is ALL ABOUT Knowing God... Am I growing in the KNOWLEDGE of GOD?

2. God always has a plan and all we need to do is to obey & follow. It is important that we be obedient to all that God directs us to in life. I find that many times, I could only hear one step or a couple of steps at any moment. When I could not see the whole route planned out, I just have to trust God and follow His guidance one step at a time. It is all about a deep trust in God that He is faithful and He is in full control... especially in difficult times of trials & testing...

Closing Prayer:
God, thank You that You are so faithful and that You never change. I can trust in You for Your words are true forever. I pray that You would create in me a more obedient heart toward You. In Your Son's name I pray. Amen.

QT on 6th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 3:7-14 (NIV)

[7] The Lord said, "I have indeed seen the misery of my people in Egypt. I have heard them crying out because of their slave drivers, and I am concerned about their suffering. [8] So I have come down to rescue them from the hand of the Egyptians and to bring them up out of that land into a good and spacious land, a land flowing with milk and honey---the home of the Canaanites, Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites. [9] And now the cry of the Israelites has reached me, and I have seen the way the Egyptians are oppressing them. [10] So now, go. I am sending you to Pharaoh to bring my people the Israelites out of Egypt." [11] But Moses said to God, "Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?" [12] And God said, "I will be with you. And this will be the sign to you that it is I who have sent you: When you have brought the people out of Egypt, you will worship God on this mountain. " [13] Moses said to God, "Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, `The God of your fathers has sent me to you,' and they ask me, `What is his name?' Then what shall I tell them?" [14] God said to Moses, "I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: `I am has sent me to you.' "

1. In my QT today, I learnt that when we serve God, we should remember that it is never with our strength but with God's. Yesterday I went into a ITE visiting a possible "job" option and I felt so prompted to want to serve these ITE students with God's love. I was touched with God's compassion for them, yet I also felt that the work that need to be done among the ITE students can be so overwhelming... But I thank God for His word today reassuring me that with God's strength, I will be able to serve them.

2. Our God is a personal and real God who has revealed Himself to us, not only in His name but also in the person of His Son. We should seek to serve Him, not other things. Likewise, we need to walk (in person) among those who so badly need the love of Christ. We need to be VERY FOCUS... to serve the Lord with ALL our hearts, and NOT waste time on "other things". If God can be so interested in us to reach out to us, we need to RISE UP and start reaching out to people who need the Lord.

Closing Prayer:
Mighty God, thank You that You do not call me to work with my own strength but with the strength You provide. And thank You that You are not distant but ever close and intimate, especially through Your Son whose Spirit lives in me. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.

QT on 5th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 2:23 - 3:6 (NIV)

[23] During that long period, the king of Egypt died. The Israelites groaned in their slavery and cried out, and their cry for help because of their slavery went up to God. [24] God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob. [25] So God looked on the Israelites and was concerned about them.
Now Moses was tending the flock of Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of Midian, and he led the flock to the far side of the desert and came to Horeb, the mountain of God. [2] There the angel of the Lord appeared to him in flames of fire from within a bush. Moses saw that though the bush was on fire it did not burn up. [3] So Moses thought, "I will go over and see this strange sight---why the bush does not burn up." [4] When the Lord saw that he had gone over to look, God called to him from within the bush, "Moses! Moses!" And Moses said, "Here I am." [5] "Do not come any closer," God said. "Take off your sandals, for the place where you are standing is holy ground." [6] Then he said, "I am the God of your father, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac and the God of Jacob." At this, Moses hid his face, because he was afraid to look at God.

1. In my QT today, I was reminded that our God is FAITHFUL to His Promises and He NEVER forgets. He holds true and will NEVER abandon us, His people. We need to TRUST God regardless of whatever circumstances or situations we are facing. All the more when we go through times of trails & testings, we need to hold fast to God & His Promises for our Lives. It is important to NOT ONLY know our calling, we need to also know when to pursue our calling. We must NOT rush but allow God to purify & prepare us through the trials & fires of everyday life.,

2. Our God is a Holy & Powerful God. While we approach God so readily & freely in Christ, we should always do so with awe & respect. We MUST NEVER take God for granted although He loves us like a father who is friendly & approachable. Personally, I find it hard to balance between approaching a loving father yet cannot be too close for comfort. This will be an area that I hope to work at in this season. To draw close to God, to deepen my relationship with God, yet hold Him with the HIGHEST Regard, submitting & obeying everything that the Lord is instructing me to do. I believe as I LOVE the Lord with ALL my Heart, He will draw me close to Him in intimacy.

Closing Prayer:
Father, thank You that You are a God who remembers Your people and acts to do what is always good for them. Help me to remember and hold on to that. In Christ's name I pray. Amen.

Keys to Spiritual Victory

Woodlands CEFC Sun Service Message (4th March 2012):

The Message is entitled: Keys to Spiritual Victory
How do we overcome temptations in our life? (Luke 3:21-4:13)

(A) By being FULL of the SPIRIT of God. (Luke 4:1; 3:21-22)

1. The Holy Spirit is not a force but a Person (John 16:13), the Holy Spirit is God (Matt 28:19).
2. All Genuine Believers have the Holy Spirit (Eph 1:13-14)
3. Not all believers are filled with the Holy Spirit (Eph 5:18)

To be FULL of the Spirit is like getting drunk with alcohol, where we will be under the influence of the Spirit & under control by the Spirit.

(B) By being GROUNDED in the WORD of God. (Luke 4:2-13)
"It is WRITTEN: ..."

Temptations uses the following to make us fall:
1. Basic Needs: our RIGHTS
We need to OVERCOME by SURRENDERING to GOD! Do not satisfy our rights through illegitimate means...
- Satan try to tempt Jesus with food to satisfy his hunger after Jesus had fasted for 40 days...

2. Life Goals: our Resolutions
We need to OVERCOME by taking NO SHORTCUTS! All authority is given to Jesus after He died on the cross & resurrected by God.
- Satan try to tempt Jesus with authority & splendor...

3. Self Identity: our Relationships
We need to OVERCOME by STAYING TRUE! Jesus does not need to prove Himself...
- Satan try to tempt Jesus with decption by asking Jesus, "if you are the son of God...."

(C) By being SECURE in our SONSHIP of God. (Luke 3:21-38)

1. After Jesus' baptism, recorded in Luke 3:23-38 is the geaneology of Jesus.
2. There is NO DOUBT at all that the Jesus is the SON of GOD... as we trace through the bloodline...
3. It is NOT "if we are sons of God..." WE ARE SONS of GOD! It is on this basis that we can fight and win the BATTLE for the Lord!

God says, "My SON; my DAUGHTER, I LOVE YOU, I am PROUD of YOU!!!"

God tests us to prove us (Job 23:10); to STRENGTHEN us. God does not tempt us (James 1:13). It is Satan who tempts us... to DESTROY us (John 10:10). ALL relationships must be tested...

To pass the Test of God, we need to be:
1. FULL of the SPIRIT of God.
2. GROUNDED in the WORD of God.
3. SECURE in the SONSHIP of God.

Let us be OVERCOMERS and after being tested, found to be TRUE SONS of GOD!

QT on 4th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 2:11-22 (NIV)

[11] One day, after Moses had grown up, he went out to where his own people were and watched them at their hard labor. He saw an Egyptian beating a Hebrew, one of his own people. [12] Glancing this way and that and seeing no one, he killed the Egyptian and hid him in the sand. [13] The next day he went out and saw two Hebrews fighting. He asked the one in the wrong, "Why are you hitting your fellow Hebrew?" [14] The man said, "Who made you ruler and judge over us? Are you thinking of killing me as you killed the Egyptian?" Then Moses was afraid and thought, "What I did must have become known." [15] When Pharaoh heard of this, he tried to kill Moses, but Moses fled from Pharaoh and went to live in Midian, where he sat down by a well. [16] Now a priest of Midian had seven daughters, and they came to draw water and fill the troughs to water their father's flock. [17] Some shepherds came along and drove them away, but Moses got up and came to their rescue and watered their flock. [18] When the girls returned to Reuel their father, he asked them, "Why have you returned so early today?" [19] They answered, "An Egyptian rescued us from the shepherds. He even drew water for us and watered the flock." [20] "And where is he?" he asked his daughters. "Why did you leave him? Invite him to have something to eat." [21] Moses agreed to stay with the man, who gave his daughter Zipporah to Moses in marriage. [22] Zipporah gave birth to a son, and Moses named him Gershom, saying, "I have become an alien in a foreign land."

1. I learnt from the Living Life today that I need to be sensitive to the purpose of God in my life. I need a better spiritual education before I can be ready for the next major phase of service to God. The personal lesson for me is to be sensitive to recognize the hand of God in my life. God is very interested to shape our Character and seeks to make us stronger so that He can use us in a greater way. It is important to be willing to let God have a free hand to move us around and change our plans or way of life... As we coorperate fully with God's guidance, God will prepare us and make us ready for our next phase of service to God. Moses' sojourn among the shepherds of Midian would ripen his ability to lead Israel in the desert.

2. Learning from failure is so important for all of us... I believe this word is so timely for me and many of us that we MUST NOT be so dissapointed with ourselves when we make mistakes. Do NOT fear failures as fear of failures will STOP us from growing, from learning, from succeeding... The critical area that we need to work on is to have the humility & courage to admit our mistakes/failures and seek God for wisdom to continue to grow and become stronger each time we face defeats in our lives...

Closing Prayer:
O God of all wisdom, I fully acknowledge that Your ways are not my ways, nor are Your thoughts my thoughts. I humbly ask for the wisdom to use failure well, to learn from mistakes and difficult sircumstances, so that I might pursue Your purposes according to Your ways. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 3rd March 2012: Exodus 2:1-10

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 2:1-10 (NIV)

The Birth of Moses

[1] Now a man of the house of Levi married a Levite woman, [2] and she became pregnant and gave birth to a son. When she saw that he was a fine child, she hid him for three months. [3] But when she could hide him no longer, she got a papyrus basket for him and coated it with tar and pitch. Then she placed the child in it and put it among the reeds along the bank of the Nile. [4] His sister stood at a distance to see what would happen to him. [5] Then Pharaoh’s daughter went down to the Nile to bathe, and her attendants were walking along the river bank. She saw the basket among the reeds and sent her slave girl to get it. [6] She opened it and saw the baby. He was crying, and she felt sorry for him. “This is one of the Hebrew babies,” she said. [7] Then his sister asked Pharaoh’s daughter, “Shall I go and get one of the Hebrew women to nurse the baby for you?” [8] “Yes, go,” she answered. And the girl went and got the baby’s mother. [9] Pharaoh’s daughter said to her, “Take this baby and nurse him for me, and I will pay you.” So the woman took the baby and nursed him. [10] When the child grew older, she took him to Pharaoh’s daughter and he became her son. She named him Moses, saying, “I drew him out of the water.”

1. Salvation can come in humble & unexpected forms. We need to learn that God's ways are above our ways and when we face with situations that we do not understand, we need to believe that God is in control and continue to trust in Him. God will always make a way, but it is not necessary an easy way. It definitely may not be a way of shine & glamour too, although it can be...

2. God loves us and He will always bless our lives. We need to continue to trust God in difficult times and believe that God will prepare us to achieve His mission. Like what Ps Rich said during the G12 conference, do not pray against difficult situations because difficult situations could be the work of God to shape us for His purpose. Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I said, REJOICE!

Closing Prayer:
O Lord of my destiny, as the story of my life is still being written, teach me to trust in Your sovereign will. I make all the facets of my life available to you, so that You may work in and through me to Your glory. In Jesus' name. Amen.

QT on 2nd March 2012: Exodus 1:15-22

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 1:15-22 (NIV)

The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, [16] "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." [17] The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. [18] Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?" [19] The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive." [20] So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. [21] And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own. [22] Then Pharaoh gave this order to all his people: "Every boy that is born you must throw into the Nile, but let every girl live."

1. Today, I remember that those who wield power wickedly will be judged by God. Dear Lord, I pray for the courage to oppose evil, may the Lord forgive me if I have not demonstrated a commitment to righteousness.

2. Good people will fail to do good things because they think that others will do it on their behalf, they are too impotent to act, or fear the consequences of action. Lord, help me to avoid no more, but rise up & stand up so that your Glord will Shine through...

Closing Prayer:
Holy God, You are righteous in all Your ways and will hold the wicked to account. Teach me to fear you more than people. Grant me courage to act with righteous boldness against whatever evil may confront the weak or helpless. In Christ's name. Amen.

QT on 1st March 2012: Exodus 1:1-14

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 1:1-14 (NIV)

The Israelites Oppressed

[1] These are the names of the sons of Israel who went to Egypt with Jacob, each with his family: [2] Reuben, Simeon, Levi and Judah; [3] Issachar, Zebulun and Benjamin; [4] Dan and Naphtali; Gad and Asher. [5] The descendants of Jacob numbered seventy in all; Joseph was already in Egypt. [6] Now Joseph and all his brothers and all that generation died, [7] but the Israelites were fruitful and multiplied greatly and became exceedingly numerous, so that the land was filled with them. [8] Then a new king, who did not know about Joseph, came to power in Egypt. [9] “Look,” he said to his people, “the Israelites have become much too numerous for us. [10] Come, we must deal shrewdly with them or they will become even more numerous and, if war breaks out, will join our enemies, fight against us and leave the country.” [11] So they put slave masters over them to oppress them with forced labor, and they built Pithom and Rameses as store cities for Pharaoh. [12] But the more they were oppressed, the more they multiplied and spread; so the Egyptians came to dread the Israelites [13] and worked them ruthlessly. [14] They made their lives bitter with hard labor in brick and mortar and with all kinds of work in the fields; in all their hard labor the Egyptians used them ruthlessly.

1. We need to remember God's goodness and how He has demonstrated His Faithfulness in our lives Then we will recognize the Work of His Hands in our lives. Then we will NOT Forget His Promises for us...

2. As we ponder our life's obstacles from the perspective of James 1:2-3, I thank God for all these obstacles because it will help me to grow in my faith which produces Perseverance.

Closing prayer:
Great is the Lord's Faithfulness. In the midst of facing oppression & persecution, YET, I shall declare that God remain TRUE to His Promises and Trustworthy with my life. Thank You Lord, in Jesus' name. Amen.

Preparing Our Hearts for Revival

Message that I heard last Sun (26th Feb 2012) from a Church nearby my Home:

The Message is entitled: Preparing our Hearts for Revival

Are U prepared for Revival?

(A) Listen Up! God still speaks today. (Luke 3:1-6)

We know who Caesar, Pontius Pilate, Herod, Philip, Lysanias, Annas, Caiaphas are, but who was this John (son of Zechariah) preaching in the dessert? It was almost 400 years the people of God have not been hearing from a prophet sent by God and suddenly, out of nowhere came John the Baptist, preaching a Baptism of Repentance for the forgiveness of sins.

The Lord speaks through ordinary people who seeks after Him. He can speak through you too if you choose to listen to Him...

God speaks today... Let's listen with our Hearts to hear God's Voice!
1. Do not be Distracted,
2. Do not be too Busy,
3. Do not be Impatient,
4. Do not be Scared to Listen.
BUT take time to listen for God's voice and you will hear from God Himself.

(B) Wise Up! God expects us to Change. (Luke 3:7-14)

When REVIVAL comes, there will be Judgement & the Wrath of God! Those who have Fallen in Sin, STOP continue to Play with Sin, or you will be Caught in Sin. Worse if one insist to continue to Live in Sin...

We need to Repent and be serious in making Jesus as our Lord & Saviour.

To produce the Fruits of Repentance, we NEED to:
1. Share (if you have plenty)
2. Act Justly
3. Do NOT Abuse your Power

(C) Look Up! God is the Focus. (Luke 3:15-17)

Am I a Messenger of God or am I trying to be the King myself?
1. Don't take credit for ourselves and rob God's Glory...
2. Point the People to the Lord Jesus...

The Fundamental Question is shown in our Prayer Life... How much we depend on God...
Whatever we do MUST be for the Lord. It is about God's will be done, His Kingdom come.

(D) Stand Up! God will be resisted. (Luke 3:18-20)

There will be Opposition that stands in the way of what God wants to do... God's Messenger will face challenges & resistance. ALl the more we need to Stand Up in the midst of facing trials & challenges to preach the Message of Repentance, the Gospel of Christ!

Do not be AFRAID of RESISTANCE! Do the Work of God!

REVIVAL is coming... We NEED to:
Listen Up, Wise Up, Look Up & Stand Up!

God still Speaks today;
God expects us to Change;
God is the Focus;

Trust God and Rely on God to overcome the Resistance. Let's prepare our Hearts for REVIVAL!
