QT on 15th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 6:14-30 (NIV)

These were the heads of their families : The sons of Reuben the firstborn son of Israel were Hanoch and Pallu, Hezron and Carmi. These were the clans of Reuben. [15] The sons of Simeon were Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jakin, Zohar and Shaul the son of a Canaanite woman. These were the clans of Simeon. [16] These were the names of the sons of Levi according to their records: Gershon, Kohath and Merari. Levi lived 137 years. [17] The sons of Gershon, by clans, were Libni and Shimei. [18] The sons of Kohath were Amram, Izhar, Hebron and Uzziel. Kohath lived 133 years. [19] The sons of Merari were Mahli and Mushi. These were the clans of Levi according to their records. [20] Amram married his father's sister Jochebed, who bore him Aaron and Moses. Amram lived 137 years. [21] The sons of Izhar were Korah, Nepheg and Zicri. [22] The sons of Uzziel were Mishael, Elzaphan and Sithri. [23] Aaron married Elisheba, daughter of Amminadab and sister of Nahshon, and she bore him Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar. [24] The sons of Korah were Assir, Elkanah and Abiasaph. These were the Korahite clans. [25] Eleazar son of Aaron married one of the daughters of Putiel, and she bore him Phinehas. These were the heads of the Levite families, clan by clan. [26] It was this same Aaron and Moses to whom the Lord said, "Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions." [27] They were the ones who spoke to Pharaoh king of Egypt about bringing the Israelites out of Egypt. It was the same Moses and Aaron. [28] Now when the Lord spoke to Moses in Egypt, [29] he said to him, "I am the Lord. Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt everything I tell you." [30] But Moses said to the Lord, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?"

1. Ephesians 1:4-5 says that God chose us and predestined us to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ. In today's QT, I felt the Lord assurance that He has chosen us to be His children to deliver the people out of Egypt, out of slavery, out of bondage that they are facing in the world, out of bondage to sin, out of slavery to addictions, out of the rat race of the world system so that ALL might experience the Abundant Life that our Lord Jesus promised us. The genealogy that we need is to know that we are truly following our Lord Jesus and accepted Him as our Lord & Saviour. All Christians who are true disciples of Jesus MUST be willing to answer the call to "Bring the Israelites out of Egypt by their divisions." and "Tell Pharaoh king of Egypt" to let the children of God go so that they can worship our God! As Good Friday approaches, ALL of us must be focus to bring our friends to our Good Friday Events so that those who are "predestined to be adopted as His sons through Jesus Christ" can be set free from their bondages, ot of slavery, out of Egypt.

2. Today, again I read that: Moses was saying to the Lord, "Since I speak with faltering lips, why would Pharaoh listen to me?" We need to STOP making all kinds of excuses and say words like... "oh, our family members would not enjoy our Good Friday program, should not invite them...", "oh, our friends may reject me even if I ask him/her to come to my TGIF party", "oh, my classmates will laugh at me if I tell him/her about the Good News", etc., etc., etc... Instead, we who have encounter God in our own lives, must be willing to RISE UP and answer to our call, to tell the Pharoh of EGYPT, "LET MY PEOPLE GO!" The people need the Lord... Romans 10:14,15 says this,
"How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in?
And how can they believe in the one whom they have not heard?
And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
And how can they preach unless they are sent?
As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Closing Prayer:
Father God, thank You for my friend Edward who brought me to Church when I was 15 years old so that I can can know Jesus as my Lord & Saviour. I pray that Lord, all these 5 tickets to "The Final Hours" which will be the first experiential mobile drama that I would be attending, will be put to good use. Grant me favour as I invite my friends who have not know you so that they will come to know you this Good Friday Weekend. In Jesus' name. Amen.
