QT on 10th March 2012

Today's Word is taken from Exodus 4:18-23 (NIV)

Then Moses went back to Jethro his father-in-law and said to him, "Let me go back to my own people in Egypt to see if any of them are still alive." Jethro said, "Go, and I wish you well." [19] Now the Lord had said to Moses in Midian, "Go back to Egypt, for all the men who wanted to kill you are dead. " [20] So Moses took his wife and sons, put them on a donkey and started back to Egypt. And he took the staff of God in his hand. [21] The Lord said to Moses, "When you return to Egypt, see that you perform before Pharaoh all the wonders I have given you the power to do. But I will harden his heart so that he will not let the people go. [22] Then say to Pharaoh, `This is what the Lord says: Israel is my firstborn son, [23] and I told you, "Let my son go, so he may worship me." But you refused to let him go; so I will kill your firstborn son.' "

1. In today's QT, I realised we cannot keep resisting the will of God. I MUST NOT keep praying for God to reveal His will when in reality it is NOT a matter of revelation BUT OBEDIENCE. God may You grant me the strength to obey Your Will.

2. God is mercy, but He is also justice. We often think of God's justice in terms of judging the earth, and we often forget that God will bring justice to those who have brought us pain. God is not just our Defender but also our Avenger as well (Rom 12:19). That is the freedom we have, in crying out to Him at any moment. "Daddy!"

Closing Prayer:
Lord Jesus, forgive me for calling You "Lord" yet resisting full submission to Your will in my life. Grant me strength to trust Your perfect will for my life and obey Your calling for me. In Your name. Amen.
