Psalm 14

The fool says in his heart, "There is no God." They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.

The LORD looks down from heaven on the sons of men to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. All have turned aside, they have together become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one. Will evildoers never learn -- those who devour my people as men eat bread and who do not call on the LORD?

There they are, overwhelmed with dread, for God is present in the company of the righteous. You evildoers frustrate the plans of the poor, but the LORD is their refuge. Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion! When the LORD restores the fortunes of his people, let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

Today is the 3rd week into the Year of Sabbath, in the year 2008. So far through the reading of a Psalm a Day, in the 1st week we have learnt to trust in God's faithfulness. In the 2nd week, we focused on the Greatness of God that surely He will uphold justice in the Land and protect those who belong to Him. As we enter into the 3rd week, I felt that God is going to lead us in a time of soul-searching. A time where we invite the Lord to come and search our hearts & purify our hearts.

In today's reading of Psalm 14, I learnt that the Lord is searching for people who will seek after the heart of God and understand His will. May we always seek to do good and acknowledge that God will always be the Lord of our lives!!!

Amen!!!
